The World is Going to Franklin

Columbus State Community College has reached a record enrollment for Winter Quarter. The campus has sent Columbus State students to Franklin University to accommodate the students with parking.
Columbus State Community College reached the highest enrollment for Winter Quarter with 28,261 students. Jim Hamberg of Columbus State's Knowledge Resources and Planning Department stated that of all the students at Columbus State, this quarter “306 students are attending classes at Franklin University.”
A few students attending Franklin University have taken multiple classes at Franklin to avoid dealing with the parking nightmare.
The students that are attending classes at Franklin are not only getting the benefits they do at Columbus State, they are also stress free when it comes to finding a parking space.
Kelly Thompson, 23, of Columbus, finds it easier to come to class “when you know that you are going to have a parking spot.” The stress that the students have to deal with to find a parking spot can be quite “overwhelming,” stated Thompson.
Columbus State offers a wide variety of parking lots and spaces, but during the peak times at Columbus State, parking is tight. Columbus State student Brooke Hess gets dropped off for school, because she does "not want to deal with trying to find a parking spot.”
Columbus State students are frustrated with the fact that they have to pay for a parking pass, yet sometimes they can’t even find a spot. Nicholas Smith enrolled for classes at Columbus State only to find that a class he was taking would be held at Franklin University.
"At first I was a little annoyed with not having class on Columbus State campus, but then I thought, at least I will not have to leave my house two hours early to get a parking space," Smith said.
Columbus State offers this advice to students: leave your house early, schedule your classes around peak times, or try to schedule a class at a distant learning center.
