The Columbus State Fitness Center, located in Delaware Hall in room 082, continues to appeal to active students around campus.
The center offers a variety of cardio machines, weights, mats, and other exercise equipment. There is also free wellness classes provided every day of the week. Some of these classes include yoga, aerobics, spinning, pilates, and much more.
The Fitness Center isn’t just for athletes. Caitie Chrisman, fitness regular, noted, “I’ve seen teachers, athletes, and a variety of people using the gym.” Caitie also goes on to say that the Fitness Center is “really nice because they play music in there, have TVs and it’s a good hangout with friends.”
The workout facility is a convenient way to get in shape while getting an education. Student, Chelsie Damron likes to workout in between classes and likes how “It’s never crowded and there’s always several machines available.”
Julie A. Collins, an office associate in the Department of Student Activities and Athletics, has only heard good things about the new facility. “The best thing about it is that it’s free for all current students and faculty,” she states.
No matter what your class schedule, the Fitness Center is a great way to begin your day or wrap up your evening. It is open Monday through Thursdays from 8am to 8pm, and Fridays from 8am to 6pm.
