Downtown Columbus Comes Alive with 15,000 Athletes

This past Sunday marks the 30th anniversary of a Columbus tradition. Many are still unaware of this spectacular event for it jump starts downtown, the vacant land of the evening and weekends. However, having grown to 5,000 more people since 2007, it is hard to miss loads of extra traffic and masses of blurring colored spandex.

Disability Services Has New Hub

Columbus State's Department of Disability services officially moved from Franklin Hall room 228 to its new home in Eibling Hall room 101 as of April 21.
 

Grease in Drains Shuts Cafeteria

Columbus State Community College’s cafeteria temporarily stopped serving hot food on April 21.
 
According to Melody Monroe, a cafeteria manager, the break in serving hot food was due to an issue with the cafeteria’s water pipes.
 
“You can’t cook food without water,” said Monroe.
 

Delaware Hall Renovations Set for July Completion

Construction on Delaware Hall is scheduled to be finished the last week of July 2009.
 
Construction began 18 months ago to renovate the Public Safety Center as well as the Health and Fitness center. Columbus State Media Relations Coordinator David Wayne says that the cost of the renovation is $4.9 million.
 

Parking Permits Fail to Reach Students

Columbus State parking permits are not getting to every student who purchases one. Although students pay $25 to get one, many never receive a permit in the mail as they are supposed to.
